New / Updated Plug-Ins
Do things faster and easier with the new plug-in options available for version 3.1:
•
Support of large block size
This version has the capability to read and write blocks larger than 64k. This requires that the program has access to wnaspi32.dll. NovaXchange defaults to using a maximum of 64k blocks. To use the larger blocks and be able to see them with the Tape Inspector viewer, you must set the read length to a value as large or larger than the maximum block size to be handled.
The large blocks (up to 512k) have been tested with TAR and unlabeled data tapes. There is no specific restriction on using large blocks with labeled tape, except that the standard label format allows for a maximum block size of 99,999 bytes.
This is only available with an ASPI update on Windows 98se and NT. Windows Me, 2000, XP, and 2003 doesn't support ASPI32.
