- What is TapeCopy?
TapeCopy basically copies tapes. It can copy tapes to different tape types, different media, and even images tape to and from hard drives, for near-line storage and easier archival or distribution. Save time creating offsite backups, or by transferring your old legacy tapes to the latest technology and form factor. More Info.
- What disk drives, tape drives and host adapters does TapeCopy support?
TapeCopy is compatible with most devices. We have listed the tested tape drives and host adapters in our technical support section. If you have an adapter which is not listed there it is usually one with a compatible command set to one of the listed devices. To ask for support for special devices, send an email to

- What tape formats and file formats can TapeCopy read?
TapeCopy can read and write various formats including Fixed Length, IBM or ANSI variable length and even undefined tape record formats as well as read and write IBM or ANSI labeled and unlabeled tapes. Some compatible formats include 3480/3490, 9-track, 4mm, 8mm, DDS, VXA, M2, AIT, DLT, SDLT, LTO and more.
- Will TapeCopy work with batch files or be run from the command line?
TapeCopy works with a simple interface or it can be command line / batch file driven for easy, automated operation.
- Will TapeCopy work with my autoloader / library?
TapeCopy can be configured to work with autoloaders and libraries through the use of a plug-in. The TapeCopy Library Plug-in gives you the ability to easily address one or more tape drives and multiple tape slots.
- How do I purchase TapeCopy?
